The Farm Animal Sanctuary

They are hosting another Sheepover on 23 July 2022.  Your chance to spend time with the rescued farm animals especially the sheep 😊.  There will be a vegan food stall available if you don’t want to cook your own food 😊 .

Their Open Day returns this year for the first time in 2 years and this year it’s extended and will be over 2 days on 6 & 7 August from 10:00am to 4:00pm.  Prices – Adults £5.00, children 5 -14 £2.50 and under 5’s get in for free.  There will be lots of stalls, talks, and the chance to meet some of the animals.  I’ve got a stall to raise funds for them so I’m busy trying to make a few more things to sell so I have enough for 2 days – I previously only done an afternoon.  All the profits will go to the Farm Animal Sanctuary 😊 Tickets for the open weekend can be purchased on line or at the gate.

Please come and support the sanctuary and help raise funds.  They can be found at -The Farm Animal Sanctuary, School Lane, Middle Littleton, Evesham, Worcs, WR11 8LN.

Link to Hope

The suggested theme for July is Men’s gifts, the suggestions on their calendar are work gloves, DIY Tools, Tape measures, belts, ties, handkerchiefs. I would also add safety razors as a good – relatively inexpensive idea.  I often try and find thick sport socks – which if you shop around it’s possible to find some bargains.

I’ve never added a belt or tie to a shoe box, partly because I hadn’t really thought a tie would be used, but Link to Hope wouldn’t be suggesting them if there wasn’t a need for them so that may be something I’ll look for in future.  I haven’t added belts as I haven’t come across any good value ones, and as I follow a vegan lifestyle I won’t purchase leather belts.  I will keep looking for good value vegan belts and if I find any I’ll post about them on here 😊.

As with everything else DIY tools are becoming more expensive, so it’s getting harder to find any bargains.  If you are lucky enough to have a What! store nearby then they are very good for work gloves – a pack of 4 pairs of cotton work gloves are usually 98p.  If you don’t have one nearby then Poundland had a pack of 4 screwdrivers for £1.00 – I usually split the pack and put 2 per shoe box but you could put all 4 in (but remove the packing so they have less to dispose of and to save space in the shoe box.)  Poundland also sell a pack of 2 pairs of small pliers for £1.00 – which I split between 2 boxes.  Poundland, Tesco and some larger Morrisons sell metal tape measures for £1.00.

Asda, Tesco, Poundland and Poundstretcher/Bargain Buys, all sell packs of 10 disposable razors for £1.00 – I couldn’t see any cheap ones at Sainsbury, and Morrisons only seem to have 10 ladies disposable razors for £1.00.

Poundstretcher/Bargain Buys still have some good buys for mens socks.  3 pairs of mens sports socks for £1.00 – they aren’t the thickest in the world, but are good value, or for thicker options there are 3 pairs for £1.50, or 5 pairs for £3.50 or 3 pairs of thermal socks for £2.00.  Or there are trainer socks 3 pairs for 65p!  or 5 pairs of suit socks for £2.00.  I tend to add one or two pairs of socks per shoebox depending on space.

Bargains this month

The only bargains I’ve found this month are from Asda – they had gardening gloves reduced to 26p pair.

Until next time 😊
